LSM strengthens power and renewables offering with key appointments

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced a number of strategic appointments within its energy division aimed at bolstering its power and renewables offering.

Alex Nelson has joined the energy team as Underwriting Manager for Power & Renewables, alongside Andrea Ciraci and Oliver Prout, who have been appointed Senior Underwriters. All three will report to James Boyle, Head of Energy at LSM.

Nelson brings over a decade of industry experience to his new role. He joins LSM after nine years at Chaucer Group, where he most recently served as Class Underwriter and previously led its onshore energy portfolio. Earlier in his career, he was an Underwriting Services Specialist at Zurich.

Ciraci joins from AXA XL, where he spent six years, most recently as Senior Underwriter – Downstream, Power & Nuclear Energy. He previously held underwriting roles at Nuclear Risk Insurers and AXA.

Prout most recently served as Deputy Class Underwriter – Renewable Energy at Chaucer Group. Prior to that, he spent nearly four years at AXIS, where he held the role of Assistant Underwriter – Renewable Energy.
