Specialist insurer CFC has appointed Justin Camara, formerly of Aspen Insurance Holdings, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CFC USA, tasked with leading the carrier’s growth strategy in the country.

Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Portfolio Director for Financial and Professional Liability at Aspen Insurance Group. In this role, Camara oversaw a large book of specialty insurance business across the US and international markets.
Aspen has been a long-standing supporter of CFC, explains the firm, working across its MGA portfolio since 2014 and currently supporting 17 business lines.
Throughout his career, Camara has held senior underwriting leadership roles, and helped to establish Great American’s professional liability division in California, and led Liberty Mutual’s professional lines expansion on the West Coast, having begun his insurance career at AIG in New York.
Louise O’Shea CFC Group, CEO, said: “I am delighted to welcome Justin to CFC. He brings a wealth of specialty experience and his strong track record of business building makes him a natural fit for the entrepreneurial culture at CFC. His appointment reflects our commitment to expand our presence in the US and under his leadership, we are confident CFC USA will continue to deliver exceptional service and expertise to our clients and partners. Justin understands our vision and ambition, and I know he will be a driving force for CFC in the US.”
“I am really excited to join CFC – a group renowned for its innovation agenda, entrepreneurial culture, and customer-centric approach. US expansion is a priority for the business over the coming years, and I am looking forward to working alongside Louise and the wider leadership team to achieve CFC USA’s big ambitions together,” commented Camara.
After Shannon Groeber stepped down from leading the US team following five years of service, Michael Brunero relocated to New York in January to take on the role of Managing Director, USA, on an interim basis.
