Specialty insurer and reinsurer IQUW Bermuda has announced the appointment of Tristram Prior as Head of Professional Lines & Cyber Insurance, where he will lead the launch of its Directors’ & Officers’ (D&O), Financial Institutions (FI) and Cyber insurance products in Bermuda.

He will report to James Mitchell, who was appointed as IQUW Bermuda’s Chief Underwriting Officer in October 2025, responsible for leading all reinsurance underwriting.
Prior has spent almost five years at IQUW, serving as Lead Underwriter Financial Institutions – Professional Lines since April 2023.
The product expansion in Bermuda reflects a growing demand for sophisticated risk solutions across Professional Lines, Cyber, and Property markets, amid evolving regulatory environments, digital transformation, and heightened risk complexity.
With the new products, IQUW aims to provide clients and brokers with enhanced access to underwriting expertise and data-led risk solutions across key international markets.
This announcement follows IQUW Re Bermuda’s reinsurance product expansion into Mortgage, Credit, and Cyber business in September 2025.
Mitchell commented, “We’re delighted that Tristram has agreed to join the IQUW Bermuda team to drive forward our underwriting strategy, which recognises our ability to elevate talent from within the IQUW Group. His deep technical expertise and proven leadership make him the ideal choice to lead the introduction of a range of new lines of business here in Bermuda.
“The expansion of our product offering will strengthen our ability to deliver a wider range of solutions to clients and brokers worldwide. It represents another successful milestone in the Bermuda platform’s evolution into a global (Re)insurance hub for the IQUW Group.”
Prior added, “I am excited to take on this new challenge and help establish IQUW Bermuda as a market for Professional Lines and Cyber insurance, ensuring we continue to deliver our culture of data, insight and human expertise to support brokers with a seamless, efficient service proposition.”
