Willis Re, a specialised reinsurance broker, has welcomed numerous marine and energy specialists from Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance arm of Marsh McLennan.
The executive has developed deep insight into the London Reinsurance and Retrocession markets, having worked with clients across London, Europe, the US, and Bermuda. This experience provides him with a focused understanding of the evolution of specialty programs and how clients can effectively manage volatility within their portfolios.

Graham Devlin brings 45 years of industry experience to Willis Re, beginning his career in marine reinsurance in 1980 with Zurich Re in London. Previously, he served in various roles at Lloyd’s on T M Jones Syndicate 1097, Kemper Re, and Alliance Re.
Most recently, he worked at Guy Carpenter, where during his tenure, he built a successful team and helped attract a diverse client base across specialty lines.
Commenting on his appointment, Clarke said, “Graham is widely respected for his technical strength and unwavering client focus. His experience across underwriting and broking, together with his global perspective, will further strengthen our specialty franchise. We are delighted he is joining us.”
Nicola McIntosh began her insurance career in 2007 at Guy Carpenter, starting in claims and building a strong technical foundation through close collaboration with adjusters and surveyors.
In 2012, she transitioned to a Wordings and Client Support position, which allowed her to gain expertise in coverage analysis and contract documentation.
Since then, the executive gained experience in international broking, specifically in LMX, and in global client servicing, managing major accounts across multiple regions.
She brings proven strengths in client stewardship leading RFP and project initiatives and supporting complex placements across diverse markets.
“Nicola combines technical precision with genuine leadership and a collaborative mindset. She strengthens our ability to deliver for clients while also shaping the next generation of talent across Willis Re,” said Clarke.
Willis Re has also welcomed Andrew Hitchings and Jonno Bryan to the company, both joining from Guy Carpenter.
Hitchings brings over three decades of leadership experience across the London market and internationally, with a background spanning all forms of reinsurance and capital provision.
Starting in the marine sector, his expertise now spans numerous specialty classes, such as parametrics, renewables, and commodity price protection. Furthermore, he has been instrumental in creating several Lloyd’s consortia, focusing on a broad set of emerging and evolving lines.
Hitchings most recently served as Head of MGAs for Global Specialties as Guy Carpenter, where he spent seven years.
“Andrew is an outstanding addition to our team. His breadth of experience and deep technical insight strengthen our ability to support clients with the highest quality advice as we continue to build Willis Re with pace and ambition,” Clarke commented.
Bryan brings more than 15 years of experience in the reinsurance market with deep expertise across the Specialty sector particularly Marine Energy and Terrorism, and a career that spans both the London and international markets.
He spent eight years at Guy Carpenter, including a two-year tenure in Bermuda, which significantly enhanced his global specialty reinsurance knowledge, working extensively with LMS, Bermuda, and US clients.
Prior to this, her served at Tysers and Aon, where he established a solid foundation in specialty broking and client management.
Bryan has also developed a strong interest in supporting emerging MGAs, syndicates, and reinsurance start-ups helping early stage businesses grow into established market participants.
