Generali Switzerland, part of the global Generali Group and a provider of insurance and financial services in Switzerland, has reorganised its Insurance division by separating Life and Non-Life operations as of 1 July 2025.

The company also announced that Yvan Berthou will join the Executive Board on 1 January 2026 as Chief Insurance Officer for Non-Life.
Berthou brings more than 20 years of international insurance experience, having held roles at Zurich Insurance Group ranging from Pricing Actuary and Underwriting to Global Head of Retail Pricing & Performance, and most recently Global Head of Motor. His expertise in Non-Life insurance is expected to support the division’s profitability and growth.
Generali Switzerland will also see new leadership in Finance and Technology & Operations. Eliana Sarli will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer from March 2026, joining initially on 1 January 2026 as Chief of Staff Finance and Deputy CFO.
Sarli has 15 years of experience across Finance, Risk, and Actuarial functions in Italy and internationally, currently overseeing Group Capital Management at Generali, including capital planning, mergers and acquisitions, and shareholder remuneration strategies. Alessio Sarti, the current CFO, will return to the Group headquarters after 19 years in Switzerland to take on a new role within Group Finance, having led major projects such as the IFRS 9/17 implementation.
Michel Foong will take on the role of Chief Technology & Operations Officer on 1 March 2026. Foong has over 20 years of international experience in finance and insurance, leading IT transformation initiatives at Swiss Re and UBS, including cloud migration, core system implementations, and AI programmes. He succeeds Andreas Schlögl, who is leaving the company after 12 years, most recently overseeing the Transformation and Technology & Operations divisions.
Deborah Bass will assume the position of Head of Communications & Public Affairs from 1 January 2026. With more than a decade of experience in communications and marketing management, Bass previously oversaw integration communications at Credit Suisse during the UBS takeover and currently works in Communications & Business Management for Products, Channels & Marketing at UBS, succeeding Stefan Göbel.

Vrignaud also recognised the contributions of Alessio Sarti and Andreas Schlögl, acknowledging their long-standing dedication and significant impact on Generali Switzerland’s development.
The Board of Directors approved these changes on 3 December 2025. They are subject to confirmation by FINMA and other necessary regulatory approvals.
