Dallas-based E&S carrier AM Specialty Insurance Company (ASIC) is reportedly seeking London-sourced, U.S.-domiciled specialty reinsurance opportunities in the run-up to the January 1, 2026, renewal season.

Shevawn Barder, CEO of AM Holdings, commented, “ASIC has been well received in the London market and we’re now seeing a steady flow of reinsurance submissions alongside primary program opportunities placed through our MGA, Pinpoint UK.
“As a privately operated carrier, ASIC brings an innovative, creative approach to structuring solutions for U.S. cedants engaging the London market.”
ASIC noted that it can lead reinsurance placements or participate on a subscription basis, depending on the program’s needs.
Pinpoint UK received full FCA approval in June to carry out regulated insurance distribution and underwriting activities in the UK.
Barder and Powell highlighted the significance of this milestone and explained why now is the right time to enter the UK marketplace.
“The London market has been something that’s been very close to my heart. It’s a fantastic place to trade. The talent pool that we have here, the variety of business we have here is something really special. So, to have the opportunity to really put together a team through all these many years of experience, with the backing of ASIC, was fantastic,” Powell said at the time.
