Rokstone Construction Risk Underwriters (CRU), a US-based Speciality MGU and part of the global specialty reinsurance MGA Rokstone, has announced the launch of a new, comprehensive general liability (GL) program.

With this new launch, Rokstone CRU has become “the only market capable of writing both the large wood-frame Builder’s Risk and General Liability for developers,” the firm highlighted.
To spearhead the new initiative, Rokstone CRU has appointed John Wisotzkey as Senior Vice President – GL.
A leading construction specialist, Wisotzkey joins the company from AXA XL, where he was a Senior Underwriter. He brings over 12 years of experience to the role, including previous positions at Arch and Chubb, with particular expertise in developing innovative GL solutions for the complex construction risks market.
Wisotzkey will be based in a new Rokstone CRU office opening in New Jersey. This expansion adds to the firm’s existing US presence in Alpharetta, GA; Austin, TX and Cherry Hill, NJ.
Rokstone as a whole operates nine offices in total in the US, offering a broad range of Specialty lines.
Andrew Yoo will be joining Wisotzkey as Assistant Vice President – GL. Yoo joins Rokstone from Everest where he was Assistant Vice President.
He has over two decades of industry experience, including three years at Everest, and nearly six years at AmTrust latterly as E&S Senior Underwriter.
Mike Pilla, CEO at Rokstone Construction Risk Underwriters, stated: “Since our inception in 2020, Rokstone CRU has been focused exclusively on the developer space with emphasis on the wood frame sector. We are now able to provide over $100M of capacity on the Builder’s Risk business and are very excited to be launching a $5M Primary GL wrap for wood-frame construction projects.
“Our brokers and clients have been looking for a GL solution for many years and now Rokstone CRU will be the only market capable of writing both the large wood-frame Builder’s Risk and General Liability for our developer clients.”
Rokstone CRU attributes its ability to deliver “profitable, sustainable, innovative solutions” to its multi-facetted expertise of its team, underwriting discipline, and use of advanced technology and data analytics.
Todd M. Campbell, President & CEO, Builders Insurance Group, commented: “We’re delighted to support Rokstone Construction Risk Underwriters’ new General Liability program with A rated capacity. The progress made by Mike Pilla and his team in establishing CRU as a market leader in construction insurance has been impressive.
“Their specialised focus, disciplined underwriting approach, and commitment to innovation align perfectly with our values at Builders. At a time when the risk landscape is rapidly evolving, the launch of this program provides brokers and their clients in the wood-frame and mixed-build sectors with the robust, forward-thinking solutions they’ve been asking for. We look forward to partnering with Rokstone CRU to support their continued success and evolution in underwriting excellence.”
