Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM), the underwriting management division of Ryan Specialty, has announced the appointment of Alan Ferguson as Chief Executive Officer of US Assure, effective September 1, 2025.
Petway’s vision and commitment have been instrumental in shaping RSUM’s growth and culture, the firm stated.

Ferguson has been with the company since 1993 and has been instrumental in developing the RSUM’s technology platform and product portfolio.
Early in his career, he led the development and release of the company’s online policy issuance system.
Ferguson stated: “I’m honoured to take on the role of CEO and build on our strong foundation. Ty’s leadership has positioned US Assure for long-term success. I’m especially grateful to our incredible team—their dedication and talent inspire me every day. I look forward to what we’ll accomplish together as we enter this exciting next chapter.”
Commenting on the transition, Petway said: “The past six years have been incredibly rewarding. Working alongside Alan and our team, we’ve grown US Assure beyond what we imagined. With last year’s successful transition to Ryan Specialty, I’m confident the company is well positioned for continued success. As I step down in September, I do so with full confidence in the team and the bright future that lies ahead for US Assure.”
