
Westfield, a US-based property and casualty insurer, has announced the appointment of Henning Haagen as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), effective 2nd September 2025.

He will be responsible for chairing the Enterprise Underwriting Portfolio Strategy Committee, managing risk appetite and aggregation across the global portfolio, enhancing underwriting quality, underwriting talent management, enterprise ceded reinsurance strategy, and providing strategic insights to drive profitable growth and return on equity.
Haagen brings 25 years of re/insurance industry experience. He joins Westfield from HIVE Underwriters Limited, where he served as Chief Development Officer.
Prior to that, he held several executive leadership roles at Allianz, most recently as Chief Regions and Market Officer and Member of the Board of Management at Allianz Commercial. In this role, Haagen oversaw Global Distribution and Global Multinational, as well as regional Distribution, Underwriting, and Claims in Central and Eastern Europe, London and Nordics, the Mediterranean and Africa, Asia Pacific, and Ibero-Latin America.
