SiriusPoint Ltd., a speciality re/insurer, has announced that Maria Tarhanidis will assume the position of Chief Investment Officer on December 2, 2025.

Her responsibilities will include managing strategic asset allocation, overseeing investment results, and monitoring portfolio risk for SiriusPoint and its subsidiaries.
She will also guide the development and implementation of investment approaches intended to support the company’s objectives and long-term financial performance.
Tarhanidis brings more than 25 years of experience in investment management. Before this appointment, she served as Managing Director and Head of Alternative Investments at Brighthouse Financial, where she worked across private equity, private credit, and real estate strategies.
Her previous roles include senior positions at MetLife, General Motors Asset Management, and Deutsche Bank. Tarhanidis also serves on the AIF Advisory Board, is a founding member of Women in Private Credit, and participates in the Insurance Women’s Investment Network.
