Previously, he spent nearly eight years at IBM, most recently as Partner and Global Lead for Sustainability & Climate Analytics, transforming IBM’s weather analytics centre into a global sustainability and climate impacts practice. His leadership was pivotal in scaling IBM’s data-driven consulting capabilities and integrating AI into climate risk and sustainability analytics for Fortune 100 clients
In the past, Rice held multiple leadership roles at The Weather Company, including General Manager of Insurance and Energy, building the company’s insurance vertical and helping establish its Analytics Centre of Excellence. He also played a key role in the partnership that led to IBM’s acquisition of The Weather Company.
Andy began his career at Weather Central, leading product and analytics teams and contributed to a successful acquisition by The Weather Channel.
Jamie Rodney, Chief Executive Officer, Reask, commented, “Andy is an exceptional talent with extensive experience building and scaling weather and climate technology solutions across multiple sectors. His unique combination of extreme weather expertise and deep understanding of how businesses, from insurers to enterprises, use weather data to manage risk positions him perfectly to drive our US expansion. Rice added, “We’re entering an era where advances in AI are transforming how we understand and predict extreme weather.
