Insurance and reinsurance broking firm Aon has appointed Jason Disborough as Chief Commercial Officer, Pacific, effective January 1st, 2026, based in Brisbane.

Once he takes on the new role, he will join the executive leadership teams for Australia, New Zealand, and the newly established Pacific Partnership Committee. Disborough remains a member of the broker’s global leadership team.
Earlier this year, Aon launched The Pacific Partnership Committee, designed to foster greater connectivity and collaboration between Australia and New Zealand, enabling the sharing of insights, strategies, and experience to serve clients better and support colleague development regionally.
Disborough has over three decades of industry experience, having spent most of those years at Aon. Most recently, he served as Enterprise Growth Leader for Asia Pacific and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Multinational Clients (International).
The broker states that Disborough has played an integral role in the success of the Aon Insights Series by establishing and leading the event in Australia for over two decades and spearheading its expansion into New Zealand.
Kevan Johnston, CEO, Australia, Aon, commented on the appointment, “Jason’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our Pacific business. His deep understanding of our markets and unwavering commitment to client excellence will help us accelerate growth and deliver even greater value to our clients across the region.”
Melissa Cantell, CEO, New Zealand, Aon, added, “Jason is a proven leader who brings people together to solve complex challenges. The launch of the Pacific Partnership Committee is a testament to our commitment to cross-market collaboration, and I look forward to working closely with Jason to drive innovation and share best practices for the benefit of our clients and colleagues in both Australia and New Zealand.”
Disborough said, “I am honoured to step into this role at such a pivotal time for our region. I am passionate about helping our clients navigate an increasingly complex risk landscape, and I am excited to work with our talented teams across Australia and New Zealand to deliver the full strength of Aon to our clients. The Pacific Partnership Committee will be a powerful platform for collaboration, and I look forward to building on our shared success.”
