Large insurer Zurich Insurance Group has appointed Megan Shao as Chief Claims Officer, Asia Pacific (APAC), effective February 1st, 2026, based in Singapore.

She will lead Zurich’s claims function across APAC, driving the development and execution of claims strategies to ensure efficient handling and exceptional customer service across all lines of business in the region.
Additionally, Shao will work closely with claims teams across APAC to advance Zurich’s claims strategy, enhance customer relationships, and ensure operational excellence.
She is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese, and brings a global perspective and a passion for developing talent, supporting business growth, and delivering customer-centric solutions, according to Zurich.
Shao rejoins Zurich from AXA XL, the property and casualty division of AXA Group, where she served as Head of Claims, Asia.
She has over 17 years of experience in claims management, and in the past has served as Head of Financial Lines & Casualty Claims, Asia Pacific, Zurich Insurance.

For the first nine months of 2025, Zurich has delivered strong top-line growth, with its property & casualty (P&C) segment reporting record gross written premiums of $38.9 billion, an 8% increase driven by exceptional retail growth and sustained momentum in commercial insurance.
