1B Insurance has announced that founder Akin Båmstedt has officially assumed full executive leadership as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), taking over from John Morley.

Morley, who served as 1B’s CEO since July 2025, supported the company during its initial phase and is no longer part of the operational team.
The company noted that this leadership transition reflects 1B’s shift from early structuring to becoming a technology-driven, globally scalable insurance infrastructure company.
Båmstedt stated, “We thank John for his time and contribution. At a certain point, a company like 1B needs not just structure, but true vision, speed, and a deep understanding of new technologies.”
1B also announced that it will officially open its pre-Series A funding round in November 2025. Strategic commitments have already reportedly been secured from Europe, Asia, and North America, with discussions underway with a lead investor.
The company’s long-term vision is to obtain a global insurance license to cover digital clients worldwide.
