David Jones to join AXA XL as CUO Retail

AXA XL, the property and casualty division of AXA Group, has announced the appointment of David Jones as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) Retail, UK & Lloyd’s, a London-based role.

In his new position, starting Spring 2026, Jones will be responsible for developing and executing the underwriting strategy for AXA XL’s UK & Lloyd’s Retail business.

The executive brings over two decades of industry experience, and will be joining AXA XL from QBE Insurance where he currently serves as Director of Underwriting for Property and Packaged business.

Prior to this, Jones was Head of London Market at QBE Europe. He also served at Aviva following his tenure at Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, where he started his career.
