Amiga Specialty, a specialist managing general agent (MGA) backed by B.P. Marsh, has appointed Jamie Ricketts to the newly created role of Managing Director (MD) of Financial Institutions, effective immediately.
His remit includes establishing the product line, setting strategic positioning and appetite, and ensuring best levels of service and return, working with both brokers and clients.
Most recently, Ricketts was the Managing Director of Financial Institutions of Nexus Underwriting, and has previously worked at Bermuda-based re/insurer AXIS Capital.
Since launching in May 2025, Amiga Specialty has made a series of key hires to develop its Financial Lines and Transactional Risks business lines both in the UK and Hong Kong.
