Ignite Specialty Risk, a provider of litigation risk insurance, has made four key appointments to its Executive Team and UK Underwriting function, supporting its growth and ongoing development across the UK, Europe, and US markets.

Matt Evans has been promoted to Technical Underwriter, reflecting Ignite’s commitment to developing internal talent.
With 15 years of Post-Qualification Experience, Evans is recognised by Legal 500 as a skilled litigator and has practised at RPC and Latham & Watkins. Together, they will support the delivery of underwriting solutions and client services for Ignite’s expanding portfolio.
Ben Lim has joined as Portfolio Manager, bringing over fifteen years of experience as a solicitor. He previously worked as a Placing Broker at Marsh, advising clients on litigation and arbitration risk, and spent six years at Lyons Davidson developing expertise in financial claims and costs disputes. Lim’s knowledge will contribute to the growth and management of Ignite’s portfolio.
Tim Woodgett has been appointed Chief of Staff, overseeing strategic planning and operational delivery across all offices. He has nearly twenty years of experience leading strategic initiatives in the insurance sector, with senior roles at Liberty Mutual, MS Amlin, and Hiscox, and will play a key role in supporting Ignite’s international growth.
Since its launch in 2022, Ignite has supported over $2 billion in litigation capital across its global portfolio and is recognised as a provider of litigation insurance in the UK, Europe, and the US. The company has also been acknowledged by Chambers and Partners for its performance in both the UK and US, as well as the achievements of several team members.
