Acquinex, the specialist financial lines managing general agent (MGA), has announced a number of senior appointments across Europe as part of its wider continental expansion strategy.

He brings almost a decade of insurance industry experience, joining Acquinex from VALE Insurance Partners, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President. Prior to that, he was Underwriter – Mergers & Acquisitions at Liberty Global Transaction Solutions.
François Piquet has been named Head of France & Benelux. He will also report to Cowen and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business in France and the Benelux region.
Piquet brings extensive experience in the transactional risk insurance sector, most recently serving as Director at Transact Risk Partners, with a particular focus on the French market.
Additionally, Juan Eduardo de la Lastra joins as Head of Tax for Southern Europe. He will be responsible for the Tax Liability proposition in the region, reporting to Global Co-Heads of Tax Liability, Will Egan and Tom Pygall.
Most recently, de la Lastra served as Head of M&A Tax for Iberia and Medi at AIG. Prior to that, he worked as a Tax Associate at Ashurst and as Tax Senior at EY.
