Willis Towers Watson (WTW), an advisory, broking, and solutions company, has released the latest version of its rating and analytics software for the insurance sector, Radar 5.

The update combines enhanced Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) capabilities with AI-driven applications and modern underwriting technology.
It enables insurers across personal and commercial lines to make faster, data-informed decisions at scale, offering real-time insights for more precise risk evaluation, better pricing accuracy, faster product launches, and more personalised customer experiences.
Backed by over 30 years of WTW’s investment in analytics and insurance expertise, Radar 5 can handle billions of quotes daily while supporting complex analytics, monitoring, and deployment processes.
The system introduces Generative AI for automated experience monitoring, allowing users to interact with Radar Vision, WTW’s AI-based performance monitoring tool, using natural language to access and analyse data.
The platform also includes improved automated analytics powered by advanced machine learning and generalised linear model (GLM) technology.
These tools deliver transparent and expert-driven insights without relying on opaque models, streamlining the journey from data to deployment. Radar 5 offers enhanced performance, making it the fastest version to date, and its cloud-based, end-to-end SaaS framework provides secure, browser-based access that meets the increasing demand for cloud-enabled solutions.
Additionally, native integrations with Databricks and Snowflake make it easier to connect and transfer data across systems, improving workflow efficiency. The launch also introduces Radar Fusion, a new analytical underwriting platform designed to simplify, streamline, and scale commercial underwriting processes for a more dynamic insurance market.
Chris Halliday, Senior Director, Insurance Consulting and Technology, WTW, commented: “Radar technology has consistently led the market in its ability to develop and deploy rating algorithms with ease and at speed. Radar 5 represents a major step forward, introducing advanced Gen AI capabilities and augmented underwriting technology for early, actionable insights that transform the speed, precision and profitability of pricing, portfolio management, underwriting and claims.”
Duncan Anderson, WTW’s Global Leader of Insurance Technology, added: “The Gen AI capability in Radar 5 is the latest of many planned AI releases across our insurance software offerings in the coming months. We are investing heavily in this evolving technology, which is critical to our strategy of delivering advanced, data-driven solutions for risk selection, financing and management.”
