The Fidelis Partnership (TFP), a privately-owned managing general underwriter (MGU), has promoted Billy Ayres to Head of Crisis Management, where he will oversee the Terrorism and Contingency teams.

Additionally, he will help expand the geographic range of these products as part of the BRICS+ initiative, and of the cross-selling with other TFP and Pine Walk lines of business.
Ayres joined the MGU in 2024, and most recently served as Head of Terrorism, overseeing the delivery of bespoke solutions across a diverse range of war, terror and political violence risks.
Before TFP, he served at CNA Hardy and has previously held underwriting, risk management, and actuarial positions at Brit Insurance.
Michael Davern, UK Chief Underwriting Officer, The Fidelis Partnership, commented on the appointment, “We are passionate about making TFP a place where the sector’s best underwriting talent can thrive, and are thrilled to be promoting Billy to lead our Crisis Management function.
“His expertise, leadership, and track record of delivering results under pressure make him ideally suited for this role. As the risk landscape continues to evolve against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions, Billy will be instrumental in guiding our clients through complex challenges.”
Ayres said, “I’m delighted to be taking on this new role and look forward to continuing to drive TFP’s high-conviction, differentiated offering in the terror and contingency markets.
I look forward to working closely with the teams in their exceptional work of helping clients navigate complex, business-critical risks.”
