Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Aon has announced the appointment of Gerardo Polanco as General Manager of the company’s Iberia Reinsurance team, effective immediately.
The executive brings over 25 years of reinsurance industry expertise, having been instrumental in fostering innovation within Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business in Spain and the wider sub-region.
Prior to his new appointment, Polanco led Facultative Reinsurance for Aon in the Nordics, Benelux, France, Spain, and Portugal.
Based in Madrid, he will report to Tomas Novotny, EMEA CEO and chairman of International for Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions.
Novotny said: “Gerardo’s strategic vision, leadership and deep market expertise will be pivotal in advancing our strategy in Iberia and strengthening our capabilities, in alignment with Aon’s global objectives.
“In this new role, he will help to enhance value for our clients as he creates and manages important internal and external relationships that enable us to optimize our service delivery.”
