Reinsurance industry giant Swiss Re has announced the promotion of Pavel Huerta-Uribe to Head of Property Underwriting Globals for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, effective September 15th, 2025.
He is a Swiss Re and re/insurance industry veteran with a career spanning more than 25 years. Huerta-Uribe has developed deep expertise across the American and Mediterranean markets.
The reinsurer explained that Huerta-Uribe combines strong technical foundations with extensive leadership experience in underwriting and market development.
Most recently, Uribe was the Senior Client Underwriter at Swiss Re, responsible for the Israeli Property & Casualty (P&C) treaty portfolio with a focus on developing tailored catastrophe risk transfer solutions for clients in the Mediterranean markets.
In the past, he has also held senior roles spanning P&C treaty underwriting, team leadership, and business generation initiatives.
Swiss Re stated, “Uribe has played a key role in Swiss Re’s global initiative to close the natural catastrophe protection gap across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia (EMEA), driving strategies to expand earthquake and flood insurance penetration.”
