Helios Underwriting, the publicly listed firm providing direct access to a range of syndicates at the specialist Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance marketplace, has hired Louis Tucker from Arch Capital Group as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), subject to regulatory approval.

He brings more than 20 years of Lloyd’s market experience to the firm, which includes numerous management level roles. Tucker joins from Arch, where, as Managing Director of Arch Managing Agency Ltd he was responsible for managing the Lloyd’s relationship and raising third-party capital, among other responsibilities.
“I am delighted to be joining Helios at such a pivotal and exciting time for both the Company and the wider insurance market. I have long admired Helios for not only its unique position of facilitating access to a market that has historically been difficult to enter but also its consistent track record of outperforming the Lloyd’s market through excellent portfolio selection driven by sophisticated analytics and its depth of underwriting experience,” said Tucker.
“I look forward to working with an exceptional board and talented team to build on this foundation and deliver on the Group’s strategy for maximising shareholder return,” he added.
Interim Executive Board Chairman, John Chambers, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Louis to Helios Underwriting. Louis is an industry leader, with a strong entrepreneurial track record of scaling businesses and deep underwriting experience. This considerable experience and understanding of the Lloyd’s market will be invaluable in strengthening the quality of our portfolio and positioning Helios through our next chapter.
“Louis’ appointment continues to demonstrate our ability to attract top-level industry talent to Helios, and we look forward to working with him to build on Helios’ unique proposition and continue delivering strong returns for our shareholders.”
